MY FAVOURITE DESTINATIONS | MOLLY GREENFIELD | OCTOBER 2018 | Blog

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA

Although I only had 24 hours in Sydney, I tried to make the most of my time there and squeeze in as much as possible.  I managed to walk to the Opera House, tour the Botanical Gardens, sip on a cocktail watching the sunset, enjoy a spot of brunch in Darling Harbour and even walk the Sydney Harbour Bridge. My time there was short but most certainly sweet. Sydney has a very relaxed and quirky vibe that I would love to be able to experience in more depth. I instantly warmed to the City and can’t wait to go back and discover what else it has to offer.

SRI LANKA, SOUTH ASIA

I visited Sri Lanka this year with my family and loved exploring the different culture and breath-taking views. We spent just over two weeks exploring the island, completing a hike up Adams Peak, hanging out of a train door across the hill country, seeking the ancient rock of Sigiriya, spotting elephant calves in the wild, visiting the home of the Buddha and so much more. The people were the friendliest we’ve ever come across, the authentic Sri Lankan curries were delicious and the views were indescribable - I would recommend Sri Lanka to anyone seeking adventure.

TEL AVIV, ISRAEL

I was lucky enough to visit Tel Aviv three times during my time as cabin crew with British Airways and was pleasantly surprised by what it has to offer. I had never really heard of Tel Aviv as a place to go and visit before I travelled there for work but was able to explore it’s coastline and scenery. It is a beautiful place with gorgeous beaches, amazing spreads of authentic mezze food and culture. I took the opportunity of travelling to Jerusalem and Bethlehem for a guided day tour which I would consider a once in a lifetime trip, discovering the secrets and stories behind each landmark. I never entered the centre of Tel Aviv as our accommodation was on the coastline, however I have heard that it comes alive at night time and must be visited.

CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA

Cape Town is without a doubt a stand out location for me. It’s beautiful sandy beaches, iconic landmarks and gorgeous food make it the perfect incentive (and holiday) destination. Cape Town has so much to offer from the major tourist spots of Table Mountain, Cape Point, Boulders Beach, Camps Bay and Robben Island to the hidden gems of wine making in the vineyards of Franshhoek and watching the sunrise at Kloof Corner. It is a place filled of vibrance, fun and history and somewhere I could go back to a hundred times over.

NEW YORK, USA

Having visited New York on holiday in 2012, I instantly fell in love. Everywhere you turn you recognise a building or landmark from seeing it in a Hollywood film or American TV programme. I am not typically a city person, but New York has so much to offer. Exploring the city by foot is the best way to make sure you see everything. We covered pretty much all the iconic attractions such as Times Square, Central Park, Statue of Liberty, Rockefeller Center, Ellis Island and the breath-taking World Trade Centre. With endless shopping, indulgent food and sites to see it should be bucket list destination for all.
