How Valuable is a Placement?

The best advice I received during my time at sixth form and university was to complete a placement year
during my studies; however, it wasn’t until I started my role at Lime Blue Solutions that I knew how valuable it would be for my future.
A placement year not only allows you to make the link between the academic studies at university and real-life work but genuinely develops your skills and allows you to grow as a person. I have built on and maintained multiple skills during my year at Lime Blue Solutions including time management, organisational abilities, problem solving and communication skills.
Lime Blue have given me countless opportunities to showcase this, with the standout being able to deliver a dynamic 4-day corporate event in Stockholm, that I managed end-to-end. This was an invaluable experience for me and not many under-graduates can say they have done this!
Having developed many skills over the duration of my placement year I can not only use these to aid my final year studies but carry them with me throughout my future career. A placement year gives students the opportunity to experience their future career allowing them to decide the path they want to take. My placement year at Lime Blue Solutions has opened my eyes to the events industry and I know my future will be within this industry.
